Hike 1.5 miles Underground!
On this trek learn about the cave's geology and wildlife as we view incredible stalagmites, stalactites, and flowstone formations. Traverse up and over 350 natural stone steps into the largest room in the cave with the largest formation and a stunning lightshow as your reward. Then travel through an underground "slot-canyon" on our way to the "Volcano Room" featuring a massive 8ft. x 15ft. antique chandelier.

Stop #2: Fall Creek Falls - Tallest Free Flowing Waterfall in the Eastern U.S.
Just a short easy walk from a nearby parking lot allows us to observe Fall Creek Falls without a long hike. At 256 feet / 78 meters, it is the Tallest free falling Waterfall east of the Mississippi River. Adjacent to the right of Fall Creek Falls is Coon Creek Falls.

You may choose to journey more than 300ft / 91m down into the gorge to the base of Fall Creek Falls itself or remain topside to enjoy panoramic views of Fall Creek Falls via the large observation platform without making the strenuous hike to the bottom.
The Base of Falls Trail is rated by the park as Very Strenuous and descends over 300ft / 91m vertically within 0.5mi / 0.8km across uneven, slippery rocks. This is an out and back trail. Therefore, we must climb back up those same steep, slippery, rocky steps. Total roundtrip distance is 1mi / 1.6km.
Following the completion of our hike to Fall Creek Falls, you will enjoy a tasty lunch at a local lakeside restaurant (depending upon availability).
Your special day is topped off with a scenic drive along Cane Creek Canyon and a stop for breathtaking panoramic canyon views at a secluded overlook.

So, if you enjoy yourself, if your guide gives impeccable attention to your needs, and if you feel safe in their care, then show them your appreciation for a job well done! The most common reasons for guests to choose a private tour over a public tour include: the ability to go at your own pace, a customizable itinerary with tour flexibility, customizable timing, customizable pickup/drop off locations, upgraded meals/snack baskets/beverages, no other personalities/strangers, not waiting on rouge public participants, more intimate, any age is permitted, and you’ll be placed with a tenured guide. We have luxury executive mini-bus for groups sized up to 12 guests. Other professionally chauffeured transportation options exist for larger group sizes up to 28 guests.

When is the best time to attend this tour?

This tour is great any month of the year! Cumberland Caverns remains a consistent 56 degrees F / 13 degrees C year round. Due to our limited trail time, this tour is highly compatible during rainy, hot, and cold weather conditions. Here is a summer of typical water levels at Falls Creek Falls State Park: mid-January to late Spring tend to provide the best water volumes in creeks and at the waterfalls.  Water levels tend to vary June through August with decent flowrates possible albeit significantly lower than Late-Winter and Springtime. September through early January are typically our driest months with very low creek levels and very low waterfall flowrates. However, autumn remains a great time to enjoy Fall Creek Falls due to the beauty of changing fall colors and moderate temperatures.
